22nd Pacifica Assembly Volunteer Information


    QUALIFICATIONS

  • People who like to meet new people and work with them
  • Have the time
  • Not a delegate or visitor
  • Able to think on their feet
  • Have the time to go through a 90 minute training

    BENEFITS

VOLUNTEER TIME SLOTS begin one half hour before the shifts begin, with the first time slot one half hour before Assembly begins.

AREAS OF SERVICE


    INFORMATION DESK:

  • Are the “go to” people.
  • Will be provided with dining, hotel, and conference information
  • Will be provided with information hand-outs to give participants
  • Should be familiar with the Riverside area

    HOSTS/HOSTESSES-FLOORGUIDES:

  • Hosts/Hostesses will be located at all entrances to the main room of the assembly
  • Floor Guides will be present in the lobbies of the Convention Center and the Marriot Hotel
  • Need to be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Need to be able to work unsupervised
  • Will be given directions to Workshops and other areas of interest to participants
  • A welcoming demeanor and the ability to give clear directions

    SECURITY:

  • Need to stand for long periods of time
  • Will be stationed at all entrances to the main room of the assembly (Ben Lewis Hall)
  • Present a welcoming , yet firm demeanor to all that enter
  • Be sure that appropriate name tags are held by those entering for plenary sessions, referring those in need of proper ID to the Registration Desk
  • Remind voting members to sit in the proper sections, as well as to sit in chairs
  • Clear the doorway as necessary

    MEETING SUPPORT:

    (Table Markers - Document Distributors - Office Assistants)
  • These positions may be handled by the same personnel
  • Table Markers - put up and take down signs that mark the table for Conference seating
  • Document Distributors - pass out documents before and during sessions as necessary
  • Office Assistants - those not occupied with the above may help in the office getting documents ready

    VOTECOUNTERS:

    All or most of the voting will take place on Friday, March 22. However flexibility is necessary as there may be some spill-over on Saturday the 23rd.
